Admission Policy

The daily admission price includes fair admission, all events, and unlimited rides in the Midway. Individual entry fees, games and food are extra. The admission charge applies to ALL patrons entering the fair. No discounts will be given to those choosing not to ride the carnival rides. Everyone is expected to pay. Children 36" and under will be admitted free, but they will not be permitted to ride any rides without paying $10 admission fee at the gate. Those with an official fair pass will be admitted at no charge, but they will not be able to ride the carnival rides.

Health Requirements

All livestock/animals offered for sale or exhibition at Kentucky County Fairs shall meet the following regulations according to KRS Chapter 257:

Please be advise that Livestock Health Regulations are subject to change at any time.

Under Kentucky Revised Statutes 247-4027, a farm animal activity sponsor, farm animal professional or other person does not have the duty to eliminate all risks of injury of participation in farm animal activities.  There are inherent risks that you voluntarily accept if you participate in farm animal activities.

 Horse Show Rules

THESE RULES ARE APPLICABLE TO EACH HORSE SHOW EVENT.

For the safety of exhibitors, spectators, and horses:

1. All exhibitors age 18 and under are strongly encouraged to wear an approved safety helmet.  No rider under 3 years of age will be permitted to exhibit.
2. Horses must remain in areas marked and designated for their use.
3. All warm-up will take place in the designated warm-up area - no gait faster than a jog in all other areas.
4. In timed events, running in the chute is permitted only after the chute gate is closed.

Animal Cruelty Statement

No person on the fairgrounds may treat an animal in an inhumane manner. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a reasonable person, informed and experienced in generally accepted animal training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be cruel, abusive, and inhumane.

General Rules

1. Announcements the day of events take precedence over written or previous verbal announcements.  Officials may cancel or combine any show classes they deem necessary.
2. For exhibit information, i.e., enter exhibits, rules and regulations, judging, checking out, etc., see individual division, department, or class for specific instructions.  Exhibits will not be open to public until entries have been judged. 
3. The decision of the judges will be final.
4. The Woodford County Fair Association, all of its employees and agents accept no responsibility liability for accidents, injury, or loss of personal property relating to events, but will use every precaution to prevent same.
5. All times listed are on EDT.
6. All field crops, vegetables, and fruits must have been grown in Kentucky during the year 2012 unless otherwise stated.
7. Open classes are open to all exhibitors within the Commonwealth of Kentucky unless otherwise specified.  Volunteer Fair Board members and members of their families are eligible to enter competititons.
8. It is unlawful to bring alcoholic beverages or controlled substances onto Woodford County Fairgrounds. In accordance with KRS 237, KRS 65.870, and Woodford County Ordinance 130.01, the carrying of concealed firearms  or other deadly weapons is not permitted on Fairgrounds premises. This includes persons licensed by State law to carry deadly weapons and all other persons who are not law enforcement officers who are required to carry weapons to fulfill their duties.
9. No exotic animals allowed on fairgrounds. Pets are allowed as long as they are on leashes and are kept under control at all times. Owners and pet will be asked to leave if pet becomes unruly and no refund will be given. All competition animals participating in the Pet Show(s) should be retained on a leash or crated while on the grounds. Dogs that are assistance animals are allowed.
10. Official Rules in published 2012 Fair catalog provide final saying in regards to contests and activities.
11. All drivers on fairgrounds must be licensed.

 Applicable to All Pageants and Contests

The Pageant Committee reserves the right to dismiss at any time any contestant who does not show the proper amount of cooperation and courtesy to committee members, consultants, and fellow contestants. Marriage, pregnancies, or conduct deemed unbecoming by the Pageant Committee will automatically disqualify the winner. Entry fees are not refundable. Winners make appearances throughout the year as arranged by the Woodford County Fair Association Pageant Committee.  Contestants will recognize the judges' decisions as final.  The Woodford County Fair Association and agents cannot be held responsible for accidents, injury, or loss of personal property relating to this event.  Registration deadlines could be extended depending on number of entries.
