THE NUMBER ONE CONCERN OF THE WOODFORD COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION IS DRIVER AND SPECTATOR SAFETY, AND WE KNOW DEMOLITION DERBIES ARE A DANGEROUS SPORT. THE WOODFORD COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY, LIABILITY, OR FAULT IN THE RESULT OF INJURY FROM ANY OF THESE EVENTS. YOUR PARTICIPATION IS YOUR CHOICE.

Special Feature - "Powder Puff" - 100% Payback To encourage demolition derby participation, the Kentucky Association of Fairs & Horse Shows created a high point series to recognize and reward such participation. Participants shall be awarded points in the following manner when entered in a participating county fair program. 20 points to participate in a derby 10 points to participate in the feature 10 points for 2nd place in the feature 5 points for 3rd place in the feature 15 points for winning the feature
Each County Fair must file an official report within 30 days following the event. At the end of the county fair season, all reported points will be tallied and a first, second and third place determined. Those winners will be invited to the Association’s annual convention where they will receive trophies and the following prize money:
First Place - $1,000 Second Place - $ 500 Third Place - $ 300
Points will be counted for derbies held in the fair week only. If there are multiple derbies held during the fair week, points will be summarized for each driver on the dates turned in as fair weeks. Rain dates will be accepted if held within 30 days of the fair.

Rules of Competition Printable Version (Word Document) 1. The Woodford County Fair has the right to approve or reject any entry. Check your schedule for what type of automobile can run. No vans, ambulances, jeeps, carryalls, limousines, or checkers allowed. 1980 and newer Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Chrysler. 1978 and newer for all GM. 2. Remove all fiberglass panels, plastic panels, and glass, including windshield. Remove all molding, rear seats, hood latches, factory gas tank, and all wheel weights. 3. No welding on frame, seams will be checked. 4. Shock bumpers should be welded, chained, or bolted or all. 5. Quarters and fenders may not be welded or bolted. 6. All doors must be welded, chained, or wired closed. Driver’s door may be welded completely. All other doors can have only two six-inch welds per seam. 7. A four bar interior cage is recommended, no material larger than 8 inches. This consists of bar along dash, second bar no more than 6 inches behind seat, third & fourth bar connecting bars one and two. No floor or frame contact. 8. Automatic drive shaft only. 9. No distributor guards or skid plates allowed, whatsoever! 10. Hood may be wired in 6 places with no more than 2 strands of wire per pole, two of which can go through hood, radiator support, and bumper. 11. Trunk & tailgates may be wired, not welded in 6 places, two of which can be through bumper, two strands of wire each hole, no frame contact. No trunk lids under rain channel. 12. Mandatory to have two vertical bars in center of windshield. 13. Bumper can be higher than 20 inches, none upside down. You can replace aluminum bumpers with metal ones of any year. 14. Doors should be painted white and numbered. Roof should be numbered 24” x 2”. 15. Gas tank to be placed in back seat secured and covered. Please no plastic jugs. 16. No spacers allowed. No adding of leaf springs. No blocked shocks, reverse shackles or welding of leaf spring together. No more than 7 leafs per side. Suspension must have bounce in it. Nothing added above or below coil springs. 17. Only one battery allowed – placed in passenger compartment, covered, and secured. 18. A 10” hole must be cut in hood. 19. No engine swaps. 20. DOT Stamped tires no bigger than 15”, but if cars came out with 16” rims only, they can be run. No double casing tires. If suspected, tires are subject to be broken down. Fill with air only. Cannot bolt tires to rim. 21. If running electric fuel pump, must have shut off switch. 22. Leave all VIN numbers in place. Do NOT try changing them!! 23. Hood & trunk must open at time of inspection. 24. Pre-run cars must have 12” inspection hole in trunk. 25. Car must be brought to track inspection ready! 26. Station wagons must remove all portions of rear seats and decking. 27. No welded trunks, whatsoever! 28. Top 3 cars will be reinspected and could possibly be cut.
Cars will only be inspected twice. If still found illegal, you will not be allowed to run! Running of the Car:
Points System for all 1980 and Newer 10 Points for Registering 20 Points for 1st and 2nd place in heat and consolation 50 Points for 1st in feature, 25 Points for 2nd, and 10 Points for 3rd In the event of a tie on a championship night, tied drivers will derby it out.
