Paddock between the 4-H Barns

 

Rules:

1.      All dogs over (6) six months of age shall be admitted only when accompanied by certification from a licensed, accredited veterinarian, stating that the dog is current with the DHLPP and rabies vaccinations.

2.      All dogs at the Woodford County Fairgrounds must be on leash at all times with the exception of competition events requiring off leash exercises.

3.      4-H members are allowed to compete in all classes of this event.

4.      Only the Open and Utility Classes are open to the public.

5.      The dog must have been trained by the person competing with the dog.  Private professional training is prohibited.

6.      Dogs in season may not show.

7.      Mixed breed dogs are invited to participate in the show.

8.      A six (6) foot lease and flat buckle collar without tags or name plates are required.

9.      The judge’s decision is final.

10.  The judge may excuse a dog that attacks another dog/person or that appears dangerous to another dog/person in the ring.

11.  Participants are responsible for appearing at the ring when their class is called.

12. All participants are required to clean up after their dogs.  Bags and waste containers will be available.

  Showmanship:

  Classes 1, 2, 3 are for youth with no experience in a sanctioned (AKC, UKC, etc) show.

     Class 1 Handlers between 9-12 years of age

     Class 2 Handlers between 13-15 years of age

     Class 3 Handlers between 16-19 years of age

 

  Classes 4,5,6 are for youth with experience in a sanctioned (AKC, UKC,etc) show

     Classes 4 Handlers between 9-12 years of age

     Class 5 Handlers between 13-15 years of age

     Class 6 Handlers between 16-19 years of age

 

Awards

1st Place $5 and Blue Ribbon

2nd Place $3 and Red Ribbon

3rd Place $2 and White Ribbon

All 4-H Members will receive a participant ribbon.
